Texas Hold'em is the world's most played poker variant and is rapidly growing in popularity across Vietnam's online gaming scene. The Basic Setup
Texas Hold'em is played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 2 private cards (hole cards), and the game progresses through four betting rounds using 5 community cards placed face-up on the table. The Four Betting Rounds
1. Pre-Flop
After receiving your 2 hole cards, the first round of betting begins. Players act clockwise starting from the player left of the big blind. You can fold, call the big blind, or raise.
2. The Flop
Three community cards are dealt face-up. Another betting round follows. This is where you start to see how strong your hand could become.
3. The Turn
A fourth community card is revealed. Betting continues — this is a key decision point as pots often grow significantly here.
4. The River
The fifth and final community card is dealt. After the final betting round, remaining players reveal their hands in a showdown. The best hand wins the pot.

- Check: Pass the action without betting (only if no bet has been made)
- Bet: Place the first wager in a round
- Call: Match the current bet to stay in the hand
- Raise: Increase the current bet
- Fold: Discard your hand and exit the round

Play Fewer Hands, Play Them Well
New players often make the mistake of playing too many starting hands. Focus on strong hole card combinations like high pairs (AA, KK, QQ), or suited connectors (e.g., 9♠ 10♠). Folding weak hands early is a skill, not a weakness.

Where you sit relative to the dealer button matters enormously. Being in a late position (acting after most players) gives you more information before you must decide. Use this advantage by playing a wider range of hands in late position.
